While I have yet to find any solid statement of "I ran X-brand/home-reloaded 5.56 through my AR-15 suppressed and it cycled fine" I feel like, if the military can get their hands on subsonic 5.56 that cycles, why can't this be replicated? and so many other forums(not to mention the vast army of older reloaders who don't even go online) could find some way to reload 5.56/.223 that would be subsonic AND cycle through a canned AR? Back in the late 90’s, subsonic 5.56/223 ammo that would reliably cycle an unmodified M-16 or AR-15 was only a mythical beast, at least in the circles that I ran in. ago Man, a 77 grain hollow point at 1000 fps would pack a wallop on a squirrel or rabbit or crow, but jeeeez.at 1.00 a shot, thats awful expensive compared to a 0.10 CCI Subsonic HP. Another reason you may select supersonic over subsonic is range. You can get subsonic 5.56 but itd be much harder to find and more expensive than 22.
